Scrap it, make something with a fairly prominent Welsh Dragon, because cool. It'd still be slim consolation, though: the Union Jack/Flag is pretty much my favourite flag, aesthetically speaking, so I'll be bummed if we lose it.

That is disputable. Also, when that vast majority of the Earth's population calls something a particular name, it becomes the generally-accepted name regardless of the original moniker. Everyone calls it the Union Jack.

I'd say that's bordering on pedantry at this point. I get it, and they may be technically correct, but after generations have referred to it as the Union Jack, that's a bit like expecting Americans to spell "color" with a u.
